Ayodhya – new travel destination: city to host 1 lakh tourists a day

Family Leave: Earlier only small hotels and dharamshalas were visible in the city, but in few years luxury five star hotels have also shown interest to start functioning in the city.

Along with this, big hotels and food chains of big brands are also looking for possibilities in Ayodhya and now preparations have started to set them up here.

Ayodhya is going to change completely in the next one to two years as the entire surrounding area will be filled with temples.

After the completion of the construction of the grand temple, there is bound to be an increase in the number of tourists from all over the world. In view of this, hotels, restaurants, cinema halls as well as shopping complexes are also exploring possibilities for themselves.

Many big companies have also bought land here to expand their business.

If we look at the figures of the years 2021 and 2022, about four crore devotees have come to Ayodhya. After the construction of the temple in 2024, this figure is estimated to reach close to 8 to 10 crores.

The government has also announced a special subsidy for dharamshalas to ensure proper accommodation facilities for the pilgrims in Ayodhya.

Many luxury hotels are being built in Ayodhya. The government has approved about 30 big hotels last month.

Local pre-built hotels are also being expanded. Ayodhya’s famous Panchsheel Hotel, which used to have about 50 rooms, is now being constructed with 50 more rooms to make it a 100-room hotel.

Similarly, other hotels in Ayodhya are also increasing their capacity.

Ayodhya Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh told IANS that a large number of people would come to Ayodhya as soon as the Ram temple opens for devotees and arrangements would be made for their stay. For which the plan has been prepared and is being implemented.

According to Singh, a large number of hotels should be built in Ayodhya, for which the tourism department has also made a lot of changes in the tourism policy. The department has exempted hotels from paying development charges.

In the last one to one and a half months, building plans of 30 hotels have been approved. The construction work has also started, which is expected to be completed by December. Along with this, studies have also been done about the already existing Dharamshalas and guest houses in Ayodhya. They are being upgraded.

The existing dharamshalas and guest houses will be renovated and their special design will also be taken care of so that the pilgrims coming here can have a better understanding of Ayodhya.

Along with this, there are many such ‘Panchayati Mandirs’ (Ashrams), which are being renovated, so that people can use them in the coming times.

A project to develop homestays has also been started. Under this, whoever has a house with more than five rooms, is being assured to make those rooms available to the tourists by improving their capacity. Around 6000 rooms will be made available for homestays from November to December.

Along with this, we are also making a tent city with 50 tents for which the tender process has been completed. We have also identified 150 hectares of land for making a big tent city on the lines of Banaras. With the completion of the construction of the Ram temple, the number of devotees coming to Ayodhya will start increasing and it will be the responsibility of the district administration to take special care of the accommodation, food and security on the arrival of the pilgrims. ,

The district administration and the municipal corporation are working on a war footing to complete all the works on time.

Singh said efforts are being made to ensure that the pilgrims coming here do not face any accommodation problem and at least one lakh pilgrims can stay in the holy city.
