Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was one of the bowlers to claim 4/38 against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2023 Eliminator match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. But Naveen’s efforts failed to prevent his team from losing their second consecutive eliminator match this season, being bundled out for 101 in reply to LSG Mumbai’s 182 for 8 by 81 runs.
Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen once again had to endure chants of ‘Kohli, Kohli’ from the Chepauk crowd. Naveen had a heated argument with Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Virat Kohli, which was followed by a huge fight between Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir.

After the RCB-LSG game, Naveen posted Instagram stories of sweet mangoes whenever the Bangalore-based franchise didn’t do well in other matches. Naveen had also uploaded a hilarious meme video on his Instagram story after RCB were knocked out of the tournament after losing to Gujarat Titans in their last match.
Last night when MI beat LSG in the Eliminator, three players of the team – Kumar Kartikeya, Vishnu Vinod and Sandeep Warrier clicked a picture at the dining table with mangoes. The post was later deleted by the cricketers but it went viral on social media and several users clicked on the screenshot of the same.
Sandeep and Vishnu posted the photo on their Instagram profiles and wrote: “Sweet season of mangoes”. Naveen was also trolled for failing to sacrifice his wicket for batsman Deepak Hooda, who was run out for 15.

Zero game awareness.
Meethe Aam dived at number 10 and over the middle order batsman to save his wicket
Thinking that he himself can win the game and become the finisher and the hero.

Meanwhile, LSG captain Krunal Pandya blamed his batsmen for the defeat against Mumbai Indians. The MI pacer claimed 5/5 in just 3 overs to bundle out LSG for 101. “We were in really good shape. Everything started when I played that shot… It was not on, and I take full blame,” Pandya said at the post-match presentation.
“The wicket was the same. We just had to bat better, just take that responsibility. But we didn’t do that after that break (first out). It’s always a tough decision, it’s just that Kyle had a better record here (than Quinton de Kock). We thought we might go with Kyle. I thought we could do something different (opening with spinners).
