Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), is a man who does not have feelings in his heart. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, Gambhir has been extremely aggressive and has supported his teammates in every way. Gambhir’s explosive encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli has been one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2023.
LSG crashed out of IPL 2023 after losing to Mumbai Indians (MI) by 81 runs in their IPL 2023 Eliminator match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was one of the bowlers for LSG, claiming 4/38, but Mumbai posted 182 for 8 after opting to bat first at Chepauk.
Naveen dismissed in-form MI all-rounder Cameron Green for 41 off 23 balls, soon followed by the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav for 33 off 20 balls. Gambhir could not keep calm as Naveen clean bowled Green to give LSG two wickets in the 11th over of the match.

After the match, Naveen-ul-Haq called Gambhir a legend of the game. “Gautam Gambhir is a legend. We all know what he has done for Indian cricket. I respect him as a mentor and a legend of cricket, I have learned a lot from him,” Naveen said at the post-match press conference.
Naveen has been the target of the Indian audience ever since he faced off against Virat Kohli at the start of this season. Naveen had a heated argument with Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Virat Kohli, which was followed by a huge fight between Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir.
After the RCB-LSG game, Naveen posted Instagram stories of sweet mangoes whenever the Bangalore-based franchise didn’t do well in other matches. Naveen had also uploaded a hilarious meme video on his Instagram story after RCB were knocked out of the tournament after losing to Gujarat Titans in their last match.
Asked about the chants of ‘Kohli, Kohli’ during the Eliminator on Wednesday, Naveen said, “I like the fact that everyone in the field is taking his or any other player’s name. I enjoy. It gives me the passion to do well for my team.”
