Varun Dhawan shares exciting details about Citadel’s Serbia shoot schedule; Says, ‘This is a huge series…’

Actor Varun Dhawan, who recently flew to Abu Dhabi, has shared exciting details about his much-awaited series, Citadel. Samantha Ruth Prabhu will also be seen in an important role in this series directed by Raj & DK. Recently, Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s Citadel was released on an OTT platform and it impressed the audience. Now they are eagerly waiting to watch Varun and Samantha’s series. Varun recently revealed that he will soon be flying to Serbia to shoot action sequences.

Varun Dhawan shared details about Citadel

Speaking to PTI, Varun expressed his excitement about working on Citadel. He also shared that the audience has not seen anything like this in India yet. Varun revealed, “Working on it has been wonderful. We are going to shoot the film in Serbia. We have a one-month schedule there which has a lot of action. It’s a huge series, as people have not seen in India. Until now.” He also said that the producers are ‘pushing the envelope’. He called Samantha ‘one of the most hardworking actors’.

Varun said, “Producers are pushing the envelope. Samantha and I cannot do anything mediocre. He is one of the most hardworking actors.” The actor also spoke about his upcoming film Baawal. He will be seen sharing the screen with Jhanvi Kapoor for the first time. He said that he is proud of the ruckus. Varun said, “There are some directors who are on your bucket list. For me, it was Shoojit Sircar (October), Sriram Raghavan (Badlapur) and Nitesh Tiwari (Bawal). Some of my best performances when I work with them. The performances come to the fore.” The directors pushed me forward. It’s amazing and I feel blessed to be working with Nitesh. Personally, Baawal is a film that I am very proud of. It says something that is the need of the hour.

Baawal will hit the theaters in October this year. Meanwhile, Varun recently made a special appearance in Priyanka’s bastion. He dubbed the voice of Priyanka’s on-screen father in the 5th episode. His father is played by British-Indian actor Paul Beazley. Speculations doing the rounds suggest that Varun may play the role of a young Rahi Gambhir (Priyanka’s father) in Indian Citadel and it could be a prequel to Priyanka’s Citadel version.
