Technopolis partners with Lasila & Tikanoja (L&T) and ‘Connected Invention’ to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, allowing Technopolis to advance its sustainability reporting and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) goals. L&T SmartT automation, which optimizes heating, cooling and ventilation in buildings, combined with real-time indoor air quality data collected with Connected Invention’s IoT devices, within the first several months of deployment across Technopolis properties Significant savings had already been achieved.
Technopolis is the shared workspace specialist providing workspace design for efficient and flexible office, reception, meeting, restaurant and cleaning solutions. The company has 16 campuses that host 1,500 companies and 48,000 employees in six countries in Europe.
IoT solutions bring even more precise demand-controlled ventilation
L&T SmartT automation is an energy optimization digital service for building properties. SmartT guides and drives the existing building management system and adjusts ventilation accordingly. SmartT optimizes ventilation and energy consumption based on real-time data, allowing it to consider factors such as changing weather conditions and the building’s thermal mass. Indoor conditions in the building remained optimum, with no energy wasted unnecessarily. SmartT is in use at Ruholhatti 3 properties of Technopolis from the beginning of 2021.
Additionally, the integration of SmartT AI with Connected Inventions’ Airwits Insight, an indoor air quality monitoring software solution powered by Sigfox 0G technology, brings even more benefits to building automation systems. The low-power and cost-efficient sensor solution accurately monitors various parameters such as CO2 levels, temperature and relative humidity of the building. Ultimately, this allows for better precise control over the building management system and its indoor conditions. In addition to indoor air quality measuring instruments, Connected Inventions also provides 0G network communication infrastructure and software solutions for data integration and visualization through FoxRIOT and Airwits Insight.
“IoT sensor solutions offer more accurate indoor air conditions within buildings, while L&T SmartT automation AI can optimize conditions and energy consumption even more effectively than ever before. This combination gives us not only energy savings, but also consistent indoor air and optimal conditions for building occupants.
Customer Relationship Managers, Vante Kenta, Lasila and Tikanoja.
Demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) brought significant energy savings to Technopolis
The estate of Technopolis Ruoholahti 3 deployed Smartti Automation and AirWits Insight in the winter 2022, Within the first few months, the building management saw profound results – Overall savings of over 30 percent in heating energy and 50 percent in ventilation energy consumption,
“The results of the L&T Smartti Automation and Connected Inventions’ IoT sensor’ pilot project have been so good, that we decided to implement it in other commercial buildings around Finland. In addition to energy efficiency, we want to ensure better indoor air quality across the building property. Were able to confirm the quality as well.
Ismo Myalimäki, Head of Property Management, Technopolis says
“Congratulations to Connected Finland and Lasila and Tikanoja for achieving such great results with Technopolis Properties. Facilities and Building Management is a key vertical for Unabiz. We look forward to building energy efficiency and building infrastructure to move to Net Zero in the years to come. Sigfox will continue to develop 0G technology to facilitate carbon neutrality.
Henry Bong, CEO and co-founder of UnaBiz, owner of Sigfox 0G technology.
