Shani Jayanti Puja Rituals
On this day (Shani Jayanti), devotees take a bath, wear clean clothes and observe a fast. Later in the day, visit the Shani temple to seek the blessings of the Lord. Shani Dev is the God of justice, so whoever works hard, prays with utmost devotion, performs his/her duties properly, is rewarded by the Lord.
People who are suffering from any kind of Shani-related dosha can worship the lord on this day and seek his blessings. You can also chant the mantras of Shani Dev and meditate silently.
You can go to any Shani temple and offer jaggery and gram to the Lord. Along with this, black lentils (black lentils of urad) can also be offered to God. It is believed that Shani Dev also likes black color and iron iron is associated with him. Devotees can give food items as well as utensils to the needy.
Helping the poor and needy on this day may please God and he will bless you in return.
Why be afraid of Shani?
Often there is a feeling of fear in most of the people while praying to the Lord, as Shani Dev’s sadesati and dhaiya make people more fearful of their fate. However, we must understand that God is also another name for justice, so every person passes through whatever karma he does.
Worship Lord Shani with a pure heart, mind and soul.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Shani Jayanti!
