New Delhi: Three members of the same family narrowly survived the horrific train accident in Balasore, Odisha and returned to their homes in West Bengal. three members; Subroto Pal, Deboshree Pal and their child are residents of Malubasan village in Mahisdal, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. He was taking his son to Chennai to see a doctor before he met with a horrific accident in Balasore. One of the survivors, Subroto Pal told ANI that he felt like getting a new life after the incident. “We left for Chennai from Kharagpur station yesterday. After Balasore station, the train got jolted. Then we saw smoke filling the compartment. I could not see anyone. Locals came to my aid and pulled me from the wreckage. pulled out.” It’s like God has given me a second life.”
Deboshree Pal, another survivor, said that the scenes she saw at the time of the accident will never leave her mind.
“We were on our way to Chennai to see a doctor for our child. The accident happened in Balasore. We couldn’t understand anything and couldn’t find anyone. People were hitting each other . We were unable to find our son. We don’t know how we survived. It is like a second life for us. As long as I am alive, these scenes will never leave my mind.”

Meanwhile, according to officials, a total of 238 people were killed and over 900 injured in the train derailment in Odisha’s Balasore. The three-way accident involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Coromandel Express and a goods train on three different tracks at Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district.
According to a preliminary report released on Saturday by the State Emergency Operation Center of Odisha’s Special Relief Commissioner in Bhubaneswar, the accident occurred around 7 am at Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha’s Balasore district.

Reports said that 17 coaches of these two trains were derailed and seriously damaged. Reports said that all the injured and stranded passengers have been rescued. Seven teams of NDRF, 5 ODRAF units and 24 fire services and emergency units are engaged in rescue operations.
Over 100 medical teams with paramedical staff along with medicines have been dispatched to the accident site for treatment, the statement said. Over 200 ambulances are busy taking the injured to hospitals in Soro, Balasore, Bhadrak and Cuttack. 30 buses have been deployed to evacuate the stranded passengers.
Odisha government is providing free transport facility to the stranded passengers of Odisha and West Bengal to reach their destinations. The injured are being treated free of cost in government and private hospitals of the state.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav took stock of the situation after reaching the accident site.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also visited the accident site today and took stock of the situation. On the evening of June 2, he reviewed the situation at the office of the Special Relief Commissioner, Rajeev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar with the Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, 5T Secretary, Secretary Transport and Secretary I&PR and other senior officials.
According to the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha, the Chief Secretary of Odisha also discussed the situation with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu through virtual mode. Odisha has declared mourning day for today. South Eastern Railway has canceled 33 trains and diverted 36 trains.
