Mumbai: Samantha Ruth Prabhu has recently wrapped up shooting for the action packed ‘Citadel’. The actress will now take a break from acting to take care of her health as she is battling myositis, an auto-immune condition.
Samantha’s hairstylist and close friend Rohit Bhatkar confirmed their break through an emotional Instagram post. “2 years, 1 sensational music video, 3 films, 7 brand campaigns, 2 editorials and memories of a lifetime. We have seen everything from sunny days to rainy days, from tears of joy and laughter to tears of pain and anguish Seen. From being confident to being vulnerable, from our highs to our lows and back again. What a beautiful journey it’s been with you. Definitely, worth remembering,” he wrote.
He continued, “As you now embark on a healing journey, I wish you more strength and power. And that you uncover some dimension of your being that you have never had access to until now. up and forward. Lots of hugs to you and lots of love Sam! Remember that ‘You are the wild flower that grew after the forest fire.’ Know that we will all be waiting for you to come back stronger than ever. Until next time mate.”
Last year, Samantha revealed that she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called ‘myositis’ and broke her silence on her health updates through her social media.
She posted, “A few months ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis. I was hoping to share this after I’ve recovered. But it’s taking a little longer than I expected.”
She also added, “I’m slowly realizing that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something I still struggle with. Doctors are confident I’ll be back soon.” I’ll make a full recovery. I’ve had good days and bad days… physically and emotionally… and when it feels like I just can’t handle another day, somehow that moment passes. Guess it can only mean I’m one more day closer to recovery. I love you.. (black heart emoji). This too shall pass.”
According to the National Health Service UK (NHS), myositis is the name for a group of rare conditions that cause weak, painful and sore muscles. Also, this condition tends to get worse with time.
There are generally three types of myositis: polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and inclusion body myositis (IBM).
