New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is on a week-long visit to the US on Wednesday, said on Tuesday that ‘Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and tribals are feeling under attack in India’. Gandhi was answering a question from the ‘Bay Area Muslim Community’ during an event in Santa Clara, California. The Congress leader said, “The way Muslims are being attacked, I can guarantee that Sikhs, Christians, Dalits and Adivasis are also feeling the same. What is happening to Muslims in India today is no different from what happened in the 1980s.” I happened to Dalits.” Taking a dig at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government, Rahul said it was “threatening” the people and “misusing” the country’s agencies.
Gandhi accused the BJP and the RSS of dominating all political apparatus in India. He said that he understood that the common methods used in politics in the past were not effective before he started his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
“BJP is scaring people and abusing government agencies. Bharat Jodo Yatra started because BJP-RSS controlled all the means we needed to reach out to the people.

He said he decided to walk from the southern tip of India to Srinagar because it had become too difficult to operate politically. He said that there is a feeling of love, respect and humility in the journey. He said that all spiritual leaders including Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Basavanna Ji and Narayan Guru Ji united the country in the same way one reads history.
Gandhi said India is not what it is being shown in the media which likes to push a political narrative that is far from reality, claiming that there is a ‘massive distortion’.
He said it became clear to him during the visit that the media likes to show these things as it helps the BJP. He said, “Don’t think that everything you see in the media is true.”

He said that India is not what the media shows. The media likes to show a specific narrative. It likes to support a political narrative that is not happening in India.
The Congress leader arrived in San Francisco on Tuesday on a three-city tour of the US, where he will interact with the Indian diaspora and meet US lawmakers. Last week, Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda said Gandhi’s visit was aimed at promoting shared values and a vision of ‘real democracy’.
