MANE CONCOR LAUNCHES ITS BIGGEST MANUFACTURING FACILITY – FOOD MARKETING TECHNOLOGY

Mane Concor launched its largest manufacturing facility in Byadgi, Karnataka, India on 20 May. The new beginning was jointly launched by Mr. Jean Mané, Chairman of the Mané Group and Dr. Djimon Cora, Executive Director and CEO of Mané Concor. The facility, which is spread over about 50 acres of land, will generate more employment and create indirect opportunities for many people including farmers.

Talking about the features of the new facility Mr. Mane elaborated, “Our vision is to consolidate bulk production at a single location to streamline processes and ensure efficient management. We are more than happy about the launch as it will increase the production capacity of the company by four times along with an increase of 50 per cent in direct employment. Also, will create opportunities for more than 10,000 people including farmers in four states – Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. Interestingly, the new plant occupies only one-third of the land in Byadgi. Therefore, our scope for expansion is high.

The new facility at Byadgi, a major producing region for high color varieties of chillies, will come under the Make-in-India program of the Government of India. The continuous extraction facility and the modern technologies involved will ensure optimum process efficiency. Additionally, the facility has a super-critical fluid extraction plant that uses carbon dioxide as the extraction medium. It is a far more green process and is organically compatible.

“Mane Concor was the first company to set up a spice extraction unit in India in 1969. Today, we have 150,000 square feet of new infrastructure covering approximately 50 acres of land at Byadgi. The new plant supports both the development of our scientific manufacturing techniques and the incorporation of state-of-the-art technologies into our business continuity strategy, thereby expanding our manufacturing capacity. Our focus on segments like Natural Colours, Natural Antioxidants, Personal Care Ingredients etc. will be further enhanced with the new addition,” Dr. Djimon Korah, Executive Director and CEO of Mane Concor said at the launch event.
The completely eco-friendly site has been conceived in line with the company’s strategy of locating manufacturing facilities close to developing regions. In addition to chillies, the Byadgi facility is also capable of handling the processing of a wide variety of raw materials such as rosemary and other spices. Another feature of the facility is the zero waste management system. The entire biomass generated during production is converted into fuel to be used in boilers and the gas generated from waste treatment is used in the industry canteen. The water obtained from effluent treatment is used for irrigation.
The expansion of the existing Byadgi unit by setting up an entirely new green field project is a part of the expansion plans announced during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Mane Concor in 2019. The parent company Mane has invested over 200 crores in the project. as foreign direct investment. Mane is the fifth largest flavor and fragrance house in the world based in France. The facility at Byadgi is now Mane Concor’s largest manufacturing site in India.
