LSG need one more win to qualify for the playoffs
Their victory will be on the mind of Lucknow when they take on KKR on Saturday evening in Kolkata. In 13 matches played so far, LSG have won 7, lost 5 and had to share points in one match as the game was washed out. This means that LSG have 15 points with one match left in the league stage. Another win will easily take them to the playoffs as no other team can match them except Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with 17 points.
Key players to watch out for in LSG vs KKR
LSG is playing good all-round cricket at the moment. The biggest match-winners for them have been the batsmen, especially Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis. With KL Rahul injured and out of the league, Pooran and Stoinis have been asked to bat a bit higher up and the move has helped Lucknow immensely. Apart from these two, LSG has always got some heroes in the bowling lineup. a few nights ago, it was Mohsin Khan, who stopped Mumbai By scoring 11 runs in the last over. It was a great display of composure in a tense moment from Mohsin, who was coming into the match after a long injury lay-off.
Can KKR qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2023?
Kolkata can still qualify for the playoffs but will depend on the results of the second match to go in their favour. KKR, currently with 12 points, have one game left in the league stage. The maximum they can reach is 14 points. They can secure the fourth spot but will need the rest of the teams, who are hunting for a spot, also get stuck on a minimum of 14 points so that the NRR decides who goes in and who goes out.
