At the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Killers of the Flower Moon featuring Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio enthralled the audience and received a remarkable nine-minute standing ovation during its world premiere.
The film is directed by Martin Scorsese and also stars Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone.

According to a major US news organization, Scorsese was joined for the first screening by his frequent collaborators and actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, as well as Gladstone. Gladstone also received some loud applause and cheers during the thunderous applause after the 3-hour and 26-minute film screening, which began 40 minutes later than expected inside the Grand Théâtre Lumiere.
After the screening, Martin went onstage and spoke to the audience. “It took time to come, but Apple did a great job by us, shooting there … there was a lot of grass — I’m a New Yorker,” he said. “We live in that world with the Osage, too.” We really did, and we really miss it.” She also expressed her gratitude to the Cannes audience, saying, “I don’t think I’ve ever felt like this.”

Killers of the Flower Moon is based on a true story and told through the romance between Burkhardt (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Molly Kyle (Lily Gladstone). The film is an epic western crime saga, where true love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.
The film will be released in theaters on 6 October.
