India’s third lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-3, successfully lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. India will become the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the lunar surface, demonstrating the country’s prowess in executing a safe and soft landing on the lunar region.
The spacecraft’s journey from Earth to the Moon is estimated to last about a month, with an estimated landing date set for August 23. After landing, the spacecraft will remain operational for the duration of one lunar day, which is roughly equivalent to 14 Earth days.
