I believe what we’re seeing here is an early indication of the trend in which sports memorabilia and the general fan base are heading. The collaborative nature and ability to top the utility of digital art/collectibles is too great a value proposition for sports administrators and athletes to ignore.
The future will start with digital first. Scalability and accessibility are huge factors for games reaching a global audience. As NBA commissioner Adam Silver said last week nba con,
“Because our buildings are essentially full, we cannot expand our arenas, 99.9-some of our fans only experience the NBA through our media. How can we move beyond that, through technology – products like the NBA Top Shot are ways to do that.
US Women’s Golf Open Artball
Last week, Golf Australian Open followed in the footsteps of Tennis Grand Slam’s NFT project ao artballis pursuing a similar concept for US Women’s Open, Using the same name ‘Artball’, the USGA worked closely with some of the same architects on the project, which links a piece of the playing field’s surface area to NFTs.
Over 3,000 people created an NFT for free that belonged to the 17th green plot on Pebble Beach, the host course. In the tennis version landing a match point on your field upgraded your NFT, but the US Women’s Open opted for a number of methods to provide upgradeable traits including ‘landing points’, closest to the hole and longest hole out . More Here How did the mechanics work?
The Artball concept is a strong concept where we see the integration of existing highly sophisticated sports data tracking technology and a new way to engage with fans by blurring the lines between physical and digital experiences.

nft maker: tjo
We meet the talents of mixed media artists, tjo From Quebec, Canada.
Who is Tejo?
Originally introduced to NFT by a friend Valley Sajimi Around the end of 2020, TJo’s truly unique art is an outlet for her diagnosed OCD condition and seeks to shed light on mental health. He released his first token on 23 February 2021, saying he understood little about NFTs at the time but found them “fascinating”.

“My own feelings and experiences with pure OCD greatly influence my art. I don’t want people to feel any particular emotion when they engage with it, but rather I hope it forces them to look deep within themselves and bring out those feelings that were always there.
“I also hope that others who have struggled with mental disorders will feel better about their differences by sharing these experiences.”
TJO’s style and influences
With a background in physical painting and photography, TJo, like many other artists working on blockchain, doesn’t like to be lumped into a particular type of artist.
“I especially don’t appreciate how we discuss genre in markets like NFTs. It has been weaponized as a medium of speculation regardless of historical context. If forced to put my art into one category, I would fall under mixed media. It’s straightforward; I mix a variety of mediums and approaches, both digital and physical,” says TJo.
Greek mythology and anime are two major influences on his work.
“I am becoming more and more fascinated by Greek mythology. Something about those stories makes me excited and curious. i like anime too cowboy bebop, Ghost in the Shell And Neon Genesis Evangelion,
“I felt it was fitting for me to find myself and a visual language; Many artists influenced me a lot, like Francis Bacon (Irish-born British figurative painter), Jean-Michel Basquiat (American artist part of the Neo-Expressionism movement), Tim Walker (British fashion photographer), frank ockenfels (American photographer and artist of celebrities) kazimir malevich (Russian avant-garde artist) and many more.”

Las Vegas grabbed the sports world’s attention last week with the debut of No. 1 draft pick, 7’5” Victor Wambanyama, in the NBA Summer League, and T-Mobile Stadium hosted UFC290 during International Fight Week. But for digital art enthusiasts the only game in town was the imagery coming from Vegas msg field,
The $2.3 billion construction is home to a new 17,500-seat stadium that doubles as the coolest interactive billboard you’ve ever seen.
As digital art continues to push boundaries in an increasingly creative environment layered on top with provenance via NFTs, one big unanswered question is how best to approach digital art to truly do the work justice. to be displayed.
We have seen the introduction of premium screens like demonic and digital galleries around the world like JRNY that just opened in Vegas and Oshii Gallery in Melbourne, Australia, but it seems like we’re still just scratching the surface. Well, what a bigger surface area than the 580,000 square feet of sphere would be.
Surely it’s only a matter of time until we see iconic digital art like Cryptopunks, Fidenzas, Ringers, Chromy Squiggles, XCOPY having their moment in the field, or maybe Jake Fried’s ‘Ball’, One can only imagine what a giant ball rolling down the hill towards you on the Vegas Strip would look like when you hopped in an Uber after a few drinks.
