Team India will play the second Test series against the West Indies with the intention of making its name. The Men in Blue beat West Indies by an innings and 142 runs to take a 1-0 lead over Dominica. They move to Port of Spain for the 2nd Test and clearly India are favorites to win this match again. West Indies have a lot to think about. He neither batted well nor bowled. The batsmen collectively scored only 280 runs in the two innings. The bowler could take only five wickets in the match. Needless to say, the West Indies are under pressure at the start of the second Test.

The West Indies made one change to their team ahead of the second Test, bringing in off-spinner Kevin Sinclair knowing the conditions. He replaced Ramon Reifer who could not do much with the bat in the first Test. Sinclair is likely to play in the second Test as his spin could come in handy in dry conditions. West Indies pitches have only slowed down in the last few years. Gone are the days when tracks used to give advantage to their flamboyant fast bowlers. However, West Indies’ strength is their frontline bowlers in the likes of Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach and Alzarri Joseph and they will need to focus on creating conditions that suit their strengths.

As far as India is concerned, Rohit Sharma told the press a day ago that they are not going to make any major changes for the second Test. India may have won the first Test in a emphatic way but they cannot take things lightly and the series is yet to be won. However, it looks like either Mukesh Kumar or Navdeep Saini could enter and replace Jaydev Unadkat or Shardul Thakur in the second Test. It’s just to see how they perform. Navdeep will play after a long gap while Mukesh will get a chance to make his Test debut.
