Fast, reliable storage is key to a top-performing system. You can spend all your money on a processor, RAM, and graphics card, but if your storage drive is slow, that bottleneck will slow down your entire system.

You have two choices when buying a T700 Pro Series SSD — how much storage do you need, and whether or not you want the heatsink version?

If your motherboard features an M.2 drive heatsink (or you want to buy third-party ones) then the non-heatsink version will work. If not, go for the heatsink one. I’ve tested both versions, and the version with the heatsink does an absolutely wonderful job of keeping the drive cool and operating at its fastest speed.

But what about the drive’s claim to be the “fastest Gen5 SSD on the planet”? This is a bold claim.
But does the T700 Pro Series SSD deliver?
In a word, yes.

I’ve been testing the 2GB versions of these drives, and in my benchmark tests crystaldiskmark I was able to get read and write speeds that fell within 10% of the rated speed. Now, 10% may sound like a lot, but it is more than acceptable when it comes to real-world testing.
It is a very fast drive. Absolutely blistering in every sense (well, except for the feeling of heat!).
