Too: Google’s new AI search is rolling out to some users. Here’s How to Get Access
Open Google Bard now, and a notification will pop up asking if you want to use your device’s precise location. If you agree, AI will take a page from Google’s search engine, Maps app and other products to find your exact location. You can then ask the bard for travel directions or advice on local sights, and it will provide the right information based on your surroundings.
With Bard, Google by default already uses your home and work addresses (if you’ve provided them) as well as your IP address to try to trace your location. But these options can be imprecise because you might not be at home or work, and an IP address will only point to a general area, depending on your Internet provider. Allowing Bard to receive your exact location may provide more specific and relevant results for certain queries and requests.
