Games Done Quick’s next speed run marathon for charity starts on Sunday

The 2023 edition of Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ), the annual week-long marathon for charity, starts on Sunday, and I can’t wait. For a whole week, SGDQ has hit after hit of speedsters that beat video games too fast or break them in unfathomable ways, and it’s been a great time to learn more about some of my favorite video games and get introduced to new ones. An enjoyable way.

This year’s show starts with a run sonic frontiers, 2022’s “Open Zone” entry in the Sonic franchise, which seems fitting. While the entirety of SGDQ 2023 will be streamed on twitch, in Minneapolis, MN, will have an in-person component, meaning the streams will have to have extra energy for a live audience to be in attendance. Doctors Without Borders has once again benefited from this year’s show.

SGDQ 2023 begins on May 28 at 1PM ET. It is scheduled to end early morning on 4th June.
