New Delhi: AAP leader and former Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain has been admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital following a minor accident in Tihar Jail’s washroom, news agency IANS quoted an official as saying. The undertrial staggered around 6 am on Thursday in the hospital bathroom of Central Jail No. 7, where he was kept under observation due to general weakness, the official said. “Then the doctors examined him. Vitals were normal,” IANS quoted jail officials as saying.
Former AAP minister Jain was taken to Safdarjung Hospital on Monday after he complained of health problems. The AAP has claimed that Jain suffers from acute low back pain, vertigo and chronic low back pain due to a slipped disc. Party said the pain radiated to her lower limbs, causing her to feel constant tingling and loss of movement.
A recent MRI done on May 3 reveals degeneration in all the intervertebral discs of Satyendar Jain, prompting doctors to advise immediate spinal/vertebral surgery and proper post-operative care, read the statement. However, the AAP said, Jain has been kept as number 416 on the waiting list by the jail authorities and is expected to undergo surgery only after another five months.

Earlier this month, on May 15, Jain had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for bail in the alleged money laundering case against him. He has challenged the Delhi High Court order rejecting his bail plea in the said case. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 30, 2022 under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and is currently in judicial custody in this case.

The ED’s case is based on a complaint by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which alleged that Satyendar Jain had acquired movable properties in the names of various persons from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, which he had not satisfactorily accounted for. Could not give For.
