Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard’s Epic Banter Takes Social Media By Storm After CSK’s 5th IPL Title; Watch

West Indies cricket stars Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard engaged in a playful banter during a car ride after the conclusion of the IPL 2023 final. Bravo, who served as the bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), proudly argued that CSK is the most successful franchise in the history of IPL.

Bravo’s coaching stint with CSK proved to be a triumphant one as the team clinched their fifth IPL title, equaling the record set by Mumbai Indians. As bowling coach, Bravo made a significant impact, working with Eric Simmons to enhance the performance of a young and inexperienced Super Kings bowling attack.

CSK’s success was powered by emerging talents like 20-year-old Mathisha Pathirana and newcomer Tushar Deshpande, who emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the team. Bravo’s enthusiasm for his achievements reflects his passion as a player, further cementing his bond with the Super Kings.

In contrast, Pollard retired from IPL at the start of the season and joined Mumbai Indians as their batting coach. Despite the team’s five IPL titles including the 2020 win, MI faced setbacks and could only reach Qualifier 2 due to an injury-ravaged squad.

Pollard jokingly teased Bravo about CSK’s five titles, claiming that he had experienced the feeling of victory for three years. Being a part of all five Mumbai Indians wins, Pollard established himself as one of the legends of the franchise.

Bravo countered Pollard’s comments by highlighting CSK’s two Champions League titles and claimed that the Super Kings are the most successful IPL team. Pollard dismissed the comparison, to which Bravo referred to his 17 T20 tournament titles. He playfully revealed that Pollard had two fewer titles and mentioned his new trophy as coach.

Amidst their banter, Bravo stresses the need for respect, reminding Pollard of his achievements. The light chat demonstrated the camaraderie between the two players.

In the thrilling IPL 2023 final, which lasted two days due to rain in Ahmedabad, CSK emerged victorious over Gujarat Titans. Chasing a revised target of 171 in 15 overs, Ravindra Jadeja turned out to be the hero, hitting a six and a four off the last two balls when CSK needed ten runs to seal a thrilling win at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
