Bollywood actor Aamir Khan had announced last year that he would not be working in the remake of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones. But, he will be producing the film. The actor was reportedly approached by Salman Khan aka Bollywood’s Bhaijaan for a role in the film. But things didn’t work out with Salman, following which, he offered this exciting project to Brahmastra actor Ranbir Kapoor. See below for details.
Ranbir Kapoor has shown interest in this ambitious project after listening to the story. If all goes well, he will play the lead in the remake of Champions.
RS Prasanna, who made his Bollywood debut in 2017 with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ayushmann Khurrana, will direct the Hindi remake of the Spanish film.
Aamir Khan on ‘Champions’ remake:
Earlier, Aamir Khan made a comment about the confirmation of Champions remake. According to The Times of India, the actor said, “It’s a wonderful script, it’s a beautiful story, and it’s a very touching and lovely film but I think I want to take a break.”
Aamir Khan further said, ‘I want to be with my family, I want to be with my mother and children. I feel that I have been working for 35 years and I am completely focused on my work. He will produce Champions as he believes in the film. Aamir Khan said that he would approach other actors to see who wanted to do the role.
Work Front of Ranbir Kapoor:
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor has Animal in the pipeline. The film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri and Anil Kapoor. Meanwhile, he is also in talks to play the lead role in the biopic of Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly.
