But most importantly, it promotes the ability to make choices for oneself without obligation or judgment. But do we have the capacity to acknowledge and accept every choice regardless of our personal beliefs?
Dangal Actress Zaira Wasim has created a stir on the internet with this special question. The young actress, who quit the film industry, reacted to a viral photo of a Muslim woman wearing a niqab and eating food. As can be inferred from the picture, the woman will need to constantly lift her niqab as she takes a bite.

The picture caused many to share their opinion on whether the woman kept her niqab out of choice or obligation. Zaira Wasim tweeted in response, “Just attended a wedding. Ate exactly like this. Purely my choice. Even when everyone around me kept scolding me for taking off the mask. I did not do it,”

She didn’t even hesitate to tell the people who opposed the woman. Wasim tweeted, “We don’t do this for you. deal with it”. Her tweet quickly went viral as it sparked a debate between the two groups.

Many applauded her for standing up for a fellow Muslim woman and defending her choices. While others cryptically tweeted a question, “The chains that make one a slave.
