MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) stormed into another Indian Premier League (IPL) final with an impressive win over Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Giants in Qualifier 1. The win was especially significant as CSK had never beaten Gujarat Titans in IPL history. The Yellow Brigade beat Gujarat, who were the standout team during the league rounds, setting the stage for an exciting final. Acknowledging the formidable reputation of five-time champions Mumbai Indians, CSK bowling coach Dwayne Bravo hilariously expressed his desire to avoid facing them in the IPL 2023 title clash.
In response to the rivalry between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, Bravo jokingly admitted his fear of Mumbai Indians. While it was clear he was joking, Bravo’s comment highlighted the extraordinary strength of the Mumbai Indians. “No, I am scared of Mumbai (laughs). We don’t see it that way. The other three teams are dangerous teams. They are quality teams,” Bravo said during an interview with Star Sports. He further expressed his personal preference saying, “Yeah, I mean, honestly, my personal feeling, I don’t want Mumbai. My friend Pollard knows that. But, jokes aside, good luck to the other teams. We’ll see.” Forward to whoever we’re about to face, I think we’ve got this.

After CSK’s win against GT, Bravo immediately rushed to the pitch to celebrate. Their enthusiasm continued even after the team reached the hotel, as they were seen dancing happily in the lift. If Mumbai Indians reach the final, Bravo will face his close friend Kieron Pollard, who serves as the team’s batting coach.
Not only do Mumbai Indians have a better overall record, but they also have the upper hand in the IPL final against the Super Kings. The two teams met for the first time in the final in 2010, with Chennai emerging as the winners. Since then, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians have won the 2013, 2015 and 2019 finals in favor of MS Dhoni, making it a one-sided affair so far.
