Dr. Saifedian Ammos, author of the explanatory book about Bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin standardhas been appointed economic advisor to the National Bitcoin Office of El Salvador.
On 30 May, the office announced that the Austrian economist had joined the team as an advisor on matters relating to various economic policies.
Dr. Ammus’s now famous book, The Bitcoin Standard, was first published in April 2018 and analyzes the transition between fiat currencies and fiat currencies that have grown between solid stores of value. It also traces the history of money and aims to show how civilizations have changed along with their monetary systems.

Ammous spoke to local media outlet Diario El Salvador on 30 May Said “What makes bitcoin unique is that it gives you the opportunity to hold a strong asset that does not depreciate over the years.”
“If you have money that depreciates over time, saving doesn’t make sense and getting into debt makes sense,” he said.
“If you keep accumulating bitcoin for the next five years, there is a good chance that El Salvador will become debt free.”
The National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) reports that Dr. Ammos recently traveled to El Salvador to lecture students of CUBO+, a bitcoin and lightning network developers program for locals to learn code and concepts.
He also met President Nayib Bukele and shared his views on the “remarkable benefits of the policy of economic freedom”.
ONBTC said Dr Ammose declined any remuneration for the role and was only interested in supporting President Bukele’s bitcoin policy.
The National Bitcoin Office of El Salvador was created in November 2022 by President Nayib Bukele to manage all things crypto-related.

Bukele’s bitcoin team is growing, with American broadcaster Max Keizer and television presenter Stacey Herbett also being part of it, in addition to the recently appointed professor.
max keizer commented that The Bitcoin Standard “‘Orange Pilled’ millions, including (MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor) and many corporate and financial giants, continue to add bitcoin to their coffers daily.”
