England Cricket on Monday announced an unchanged squad for the final Test of the Ashes 2023 series starting July 27 at The Oval.
England hopes that the series will be equal to 2-2. England were in top form in the fourth Test to level the series and rekindle their hopes of regaining the Ashes after 2015, but almost two days of the Manchester Test were washed out by rain and the match ended in a draw.
Australia had scored 214/5 in their second innings, still 61 runs behind England’s first innings score, but rain washed out five sessions. Cameron Green (3*) and Mitchell Marsh (31*) were at the crease.

Labushen was the main scorer for Australia in the second innings and his 111 included 10 fours and two sixes. While there was action in the second session on the fourth day, there was no play on the fifth day.
If Australia win the series, it will be the first time since 2001 that they will beat the hosts on their home soil. England captain Ben Stokes has already made it clear that the fifth Test will be a big game for them.
England may announce their playing XI closer to the match, taking into account various factors including player workloads.
