No plans to marry Anju: Nasrullah
Interestingly, a day before their alleged wedding, Nasrullah had said that he had no plans to marry her. He further said that Anju – his Facebook friend – will return to India on August 20 when her visa expires, dismissing reports of any love angle.
Nasrullah, 29, said he has no plans to marry Anju, 34, who was born in Uttar Pradesh’s Kailor village and lives in Rajasthan’s Alwar district. Nasrullah and Anju became friends on Facebook in 2019. “Anju is on a trip to Pakistan and we have no plans to get married,” news agency PTI quoted Nasrullah as saying over the phone from Kulsho village in the district, about 300 km from Peshawar.
“She will go back to her country on August 20 after her visa expires,” he said. “Anju is staying in a separate room in their house along with other female members of my family,” he said.
Indian women cross limits for love
In a repeat of the Seema Hidar case, 35-year-old Anju went to Upper Dir district of Pakistan’s tribal Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on a valid Pakistani visa to meet Nasrullah. According to an official document from the Ministry of Interior sent to the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi, the Chancery was informed that a decision has been taken to grant Anju a 30-day visa, valid only for Upper Dir.
A science graduate from Sheringal University, Nasrullah is the youngest of five brothers. They have given an affidavit to the local authorities, stating that there is no love affair in their friendship and Anju will return to India on August 20. The affidavit also states that she will not move out of the Upper Dir district.
“She will definitely go back on August 20 as per her visa documents,” said police officer Mushtaq. District Police Officer Mushtaq interviewed Anju at his office on Sunday and checked her travel documents, based on which she was issued a no-objection certificate.
Adequate security provided to Anju: Pak official
Nasrullah said that they have been provided adequate security by the district administration and Anju is safe and sound with her family. The villagers, mostly Pashtuns who are very religious people, want Anju to return safely to India as they do not want the incident to bring bad name to their community.
I am safe, don’t disturb my family: Anju in new video
Anju said in a new video that she is safe and sound. She has come to Pakistan legally after complete planning. She also said that she would return to India through the legal process after her visa expires. He also requested the media not to disturb his family and relatives as he is ready to answer all the questions.
Hoping for her return: Anju’s husband
Anju’s husband Arvind, who is in Rajasthan, is hopeful that his wife will be back soon. They have a 15-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son. Anju’s husband Arvind told the media in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi that she had left home on Thursday on the pretext of going to Jaipur but later the family came to know that she was in Pakistan. “Anju’s husband said that she had left home on Thursday. He has a valid passport,” said Assistant Superintendent of Police Bhiwadi Sujit Shankar.
He said the family did not lodge a complaint after they came to know about Anju’s visit to Pakistan. Arvind told the media at his home that his wife Anju told her sister that he was in Lahore and later spoke to her over a WhatsApp call. He said he would talk to her and ask her to return, adding that he hoped she would return home. She said that her passport was issued in 2020 as she wanted to apply for a job abroad. Arvind said that he had no idea that she was in touch with someone on social media.
Seema Haider Vs Anju
The incident of Anju is similar to the case of Seema Ghulam Haider. Seema, a Pakistani mother of four, came into hiding in India to live with Sachin Meena, a Hindu man with whom she came in contact while playing PUBG in 2019. According to the Uttar Pradesh Police, Seema, 30, and Sachin, 22, live in Greater Noida’s Rabupura area near Delhi, where he runs a provision store.
