Singur: Senior Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee, whose wife Rujira was allegedly stopped from boarding a UAE-bound flight on Monday, said his family was “harassed” by the panchayat elections in West Bengal. The first was done with the aim of stopping his campaign.

Sources said Rujira along with her two children had reached Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport around 7 am and were stopped before immigration. Abhishek has been touring the state since April as part of his Trinamool Nabojowar (New Wave in Trinamool) campaign ahead of the panchayat polls.
