Adipurush recorded a historic 90 percent drop in its second weekend in India. The Prabhas starrer mythological epic opened with Rs. 218 crores at the Indian box office last weekend, registering the fourth highest opening of all time, only to crash and burn in its second weekend, earning only Rs. 22.50 crores.
Till now, the total box office collection of Adipurush in India is Rs. 290 crores. With an expected additional investment of Rs. The film is likely to close around Rs 15-20 crores. 305-310 cr. The film’s box office performance can be called “average”, but for the cost involved, it should have done better than “average”. However despite significant cost overruns, the production is projected to abate severe losses through non-dramatic recovery and substantial non-refundable advance (NRA) received from Telugu distributors. However, these recoveries only serve to redistribute the deficit, as the expected revenue from the Telugu state will cover only half of the NRA. The estimated recovery for the film is around Rs.
