‘Biryani Super Kings’ Swiggy Declares Most Ordered Biryani During IPL Season

CSK was not the only winner of the ‘trophy’.

Biryani receives over 12 million orders on Swiggy, making it a Swiggy winner “Trophy for Most Ordered Food Items” Throughout the IPL season.

According to a Twitter survey conducted by Swiggy, Hyderabadi Biryani received 75.4% of orders, followed by Lucknowi Biryani at 14.2% and Kolkata Biryani at 10.4%.

With 2.28 orders per second, according to the company, biryani remained the most popular food item on Swiggy’s app for the seventh year in a row in 2022.

Swiggy reported a 30% increase in orders during the 2020 IPL, with chicken biryani, butter naan and masala dosa being the top three most popular items. The business also mentioned how popular the IPL special menus, especially the combos, were.

The IPL season has historically provided excellent sales numbers for Swiggy.
