New Delhi: Australian celebrity chef Sarah Todd met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Sydney on Tuesday and described him as an “incredible” person and an influencer. The ‘MasterChef Australia’ contestant also said that she felt ‘very lucky’ to have met PM Modi and she could see that he really cares for India.
“The Prime Minister is such an incredible person. I feel very fortunate to have met him and I can see that he really cares for the country and the vision. The PM is an incredibly influential person and I think coming from humble beginnings and standing This leader in the country – he has done such an incredible job…,” Sarah Todd told news agency ANI.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also interacted with other prominent Australian personalities working in diverse fields such as science, artificial intelligence, social work and arts and music, and encouraged them to contribute to strengthening India-Australia ties.
Prominent public figures he met included artist Danielle Mate, Nobel laureate Brian Paul Schmidt, ‘toilet warrior’ Mark Balla and rockstar Guy Sebastian.

‘Toilet Warrior’ Balla called Prime Minister Modi an absolute number one change maker in the field of sanitation globally. He said that he spoke on the subject of cleanliness.
Balla said after the meeting, “‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in India – Mr. Modi is the No. 1 changemaker in the field of cleanliness globally.”
Nobel laureate Schmidt said he had very enriching conversations with PM Modi on science and research and called him one of India’s ‘most visible’ leaders.
Australian artist Mate said the Prime Minister has a “creative element” in himself and can see similarities in the art and culture of the two countries.

Sebastian talks to Modi about music and his mother. He said the Prime Minister showed him a clip of the Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’ going viral and it is something he is going to learn from.
Earlier in the day, he met business leaders from top Australian companies and called for increased collaboration with Indian industry in areas such as technology, skills and clean energy. He held bilateral meetings with Gina Rinehart, Executive Chairman of Hancock Prospecting, Andrew Forrest, Executive Chairman of Fortescue Future Industries and Paul Schroder, CEO of AustraliaSuper.

Modi arrived in Sydney on Monday for the third and final leg of his three-nation tour, during which he will hold talks with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on Wednesday.
