Bhopal: Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav said on Monday that the Narendra Modi government’s Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and mobile phone based schemes have prevented wastage of public money and ensured its benefits till the last person of the society.
Addressing a press conference on the achievements of the Narendra Modi government’s nine years, the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change said “targeted delivery” of rights to the last man was the biggest achievement.
“MP BJP president Vishnu Dutt Sharma (who was present at the press conference) has mentioned leakage of 85 paise from one rupee earmarked for development works. We have been able to plug this leakage through schemes like Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile. We have provided respect and security to the poor people in the country.”
Under Jan Dhan Yojana, bank accounts of 48.27 crore people were opened and over Rs 25 lakh crore transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), resulting in estimated savings of Rs 2.73 lakh crore, a booklet released Gayi said on this occasion.
He said that to curb the corona virus epidemic, 220 crore vaccine doses were given and vaccine consignments were also sent to many countries, which enhanced India’s image and reputation worldwide.
In the nine years of the Modi government, the number of All India Institutes of Medical Sciences increased from eight to 23, medical colleges increased from 641 to 1,341, and medical seats increased from 82,466 to 1,52,129. He said that the number of IITs increased from 16 to 23 and IIMs increased from 13 to 20 during this period.
Describing Ayushman Bharat, which provides cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, as the world’s largest health insurance scheme, Yadav said 23.3 crore Ayushman cards have been issued so far and 4.5 crore people availed free treatment Is.
Yadav said that Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Nal Jal Yojana, introduction of Vande Bharat trains, development of airports, focus on exports and agriculture etc. have changed the lives of people.
