Malayalam Industry Hit 2018 has almost ended its theatrical run after six weeks. The film collected Rs. 1 crore in its sixth week, taking the total collection to Rs. 107 crores in India. It has earned another Rs. Worldwide Box Office Rs. 69 crores internationally for. 176 crores. The film is still running in a few centers and will probably add a crore or two to its total.
In Kerala, it is just shy of Rs. 90 crores. At one point, it appeared that the film had a strong chance of reaching the coveted milestone of Rs. 100 crores. Unfortunately, the film experienced a significant drop when the decision to release it digitally was announced in the fourth week. When it was actually released digitally on 7 June, it was swiftly pulled from most theaters in accordance with local exhibitors association norms that prohibit films from theatrical exhibition on digital release. It was expected that an exception could be made for this film, but it did not happen and a lot of money was left on the table. There was also a proposal to delay the digital release, which could have been a good decision for all parties involved but was denied by the digital platform.
