The US Securities and Exchange Commission has filed an emergency action application seeking a temporary restraining order to freeze the US assets of cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
The SEC said it wants to ensure that the assets of Binance.US customers remain safe and remain in the United States through the resolution of pending SEC litigation in this matter.
The momentum comes on the heels of thirteen allegations filed by the regulator on Monday (June 5) over Binance’s ‘web of fraud’.
Binance attempted to reassure its US customers that their “assets are safe and secure and the platform is fully operational with deposits and withdrawals as normal”.
