New Delhi: As the ruling BJP turns its attention to the poll-bound states after losing its southern bastion Karnataka to the Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to address a rally in Haryana’s Sirsa on June 18. Sharing more details, BJP’s Haryana in-charge and former Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the party will organize 13 major programs in Haryana till June 30 to mark the completion of nine years of PM Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre. .
Shah will be in Haryana as part of the ruling BJP’s larger ‘public contact’ campaign to reach out to the masses to highlight the achievements of the nine years of the Narendra Modi government at the Center ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
As per the plan, the saffron party will hold rallies, hold talks with business organisations, interact with senior workers, organize Yoga Day event on June 21 and conduct several other activities during this period.
After facing electoral defeat in Karnataka, the ruling BJP has shifted its focus to poll-bound states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana where assembly elections will be held next year. If sources are to be believed, BJP is eyeing the Lok Sabha seat of Sirsa, the stronghold of the powerful Chautala family of Haryana.
Amit Shah had visited Sonipat and Rohtak earlier this year in January – both considered strongholds of former Congress chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. Earlier in 2014, Sirsa went to INLD, while Deepender Hooda of Congress won in Rohtak. BJP’s Ramesh Chand Kaushik won from Sonipat.
Andhra Pradesh
Apart from Haryana, Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda will visit Andhra Pradesh as part of the mega public relations campaign. BJP sources said that the purpose of the leaders’ visit is to present the progress card of the nine-year tenure of the PM Modi government in front of the public.
According to party sources, Home Minister Shah will address a public meeting in Visakhapatnam on June 8, while Nadda will address a meeting in Tirupati on June 10.

Assam
Amit Shah and Nadda will also visit Assam this month and they will participate in two mega public meetings of Assam BJP’s mass contact campaign.
The BJP will hold several mega rallies in all the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state from June 11. According to the Assam BJP, massive public meetings are to be held by the Assam BJP in the Lok Sabha constituencies of the state from June 11 to June 30. Order to discuss in detail the policies and schemes implemented by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the country including Assam and preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Shah, Nadda, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP National Vice President Baijayant Jay Panda, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and several other ministers, party leaders will attend the meetings.
In this regard, Assam BJP President Bhabesh Kalita said, ‘Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the meeting to be held in Hojai under Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency on June 27 and BJP national president JP Nadda will attend the meeting here. Sivasagar under Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency on June 19.”
He further mentioned that Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will be present as the chief guest in the meetings to be held in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Diphu, Tezpur, Lakhimpur, Jorhat and Dhubri.
At the same time, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju will be present as the chief guest in the meeting to be held in Kaliabor Lok Sabha constituency. Also Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju will attend the meeting, in which Union Minister Amit Shah will attend the meeting held at Hojai in Nagaon.
CM Sarma will also attend the meeting in Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency where BJP national president will be present.
As part of the nine-year celebration, the BJP plans to hold around 50 rallies across the country between May 30 and June 30, of which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead and address half a dozen rallies.
According to sources, this campaign will also boost BJP’s preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, which are almost a year away.
