Syngenta Seedcare introduces EQUENTO®, a new mode of action to control soil pests

Syngenta Crop Protection’s Seedcare business today introduced Equanto®, a new seed treatment that provides excellent control of a variety of soilborne pests while helping farmers increase the sustainability of their farming operations.

EQUENTO®, based on Syngenta’s state-of-the-art PLINAZOLIN® technology, is applied to the seed, protecting the crop from the very beginning of its life. Based on a new mode of action (IRAC Group 30), it delivers a significant increase in pest resistance while offering precise control of a wide variety of soil pests – including hard-to-reach pests such as wireworms and red legged earthworms – Contains controlled pests. One of the key benefits that EQUENTO® brings is its ability to increase the sustainability of farm operations. Safe for both seed and plant, this seed treatment is highly effective at very low dosage rates and is not readily soluble or mobile in the soil. It provides precise and effective pest control in the area around plant roots and ensures healthy roots that contribute to better soil health and biodiversity.

This innovative seed treatment also provides farmers with greater flexibility in farming decisions – from application timing, dosage rates to the option of mixing with other insecticides and fungicides. It is also effective in low soil temperatures, controlling pests that either live on or come in contact with the plant, and reducing insect populations in the soil. In addition, EQUENTO® has exceptional target specificity, which enables farmers to precisely tailor their dosage rates to meet particular pest challenges.
