We’re getting another Sonic Lego set this year, with Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg robot as a scrap of memorabilia from the Blue Blur.
It joins four other Sonic Lego sets that have already been announced, all of which are set to launch on August 1st at different price points. As of now, however, there is no price or release date for this fifth set, aptly named Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman Death Egg Robot. You can check out its store page on the official Lego website, however, and get some details on what to expect.
The Death Egg robot is one of the earliest final bosses in the Sonic series, and certainly one of the most iconic, appearing in the first sonic the hedgehog 2 For Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. It has since returned to fan-favorite sonic generation as well as Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Although we do not talk about that.
However, in Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot Lego set looks quite different from his Sonic 2 portrayal. The design is on-point, but the set features a spring-loaded ramp for launching your Sonic minifigures onto the egg-shaped mech.
The set also includes Sonic and Eggman mini-figures, and a range of accessories including spike traps, a spin ball for Sonic, and animal critters trapped in capsules. Given the abundance of accessories, this will likely be one of the more expensive Sonic Lego sets of the current bunch. Most probably, it will release along with the other four sets.

The updated list of Sonic Lego sets now reads as follows:
- Sonic’s Speed Zone Challenge ($34.99 / £24.99)
- Tales Workshop and Tornado Plane ($39.99 / £37.99)
- Amy’s Animal Rescue Island ($49.99 / £46.99)
- Sonic The Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge ($99.99 / £94.99)
- Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman’s Death Egg Robot (Price TBC)
These Sonic Lego sets aren’t the only weird crossovers we’ve seen of late. Most recently, Blaze Entertainment introduced some of the anti-hero’s best games from the ’90s with a Duke Nukem Atomic Edition Evercade VS console, as well as a pair of Duke Nukem cartridge collections.
