Gurugram man seen drinking alcohol and doing push-ups in a moving car; police issue challan

Gurugram: A man was detained for his involvement in an incident that saw four people drinking, dancing and doing push-ups on top of a moving car in the city, officials said. Two videos of the incident surfaced online, following which the city police fined the owner of the car Rs 6,500.

City traffic police said, “A challan of Rs 6,500 has been issued against the violator. We request all road users not to put their lives and others at risk by violating traffic rules.”

Police have recovered a car, which was allegedly used for the violation. Police said that an accused identified as Lokesh has also been taken into custody.

Two undated videos of the incident were shared by a user on Twitter on Tuesday morning.

In one of the clips, a man is allegedly drinking alcohol on top of a car in the middle of traffic. Two of his friends later throw his upper body out of the car while the car is in motion. A person sitting on the roof of the vehicle is seen holding a bottle containing some beverage.

In another video of the same incident, a man is seen doing push-ups on the roof of a moving car. Later, three other people can be seen sticking their heads out of the windows of the car.

According to the police, they have taken prompt action in the matter. Traffic DCP Virender Vij said, “This kind of act on the roads will never be tolerated.”
