‘Champion’ Virat Kohli lauds Jadeja’s heroics, praises Dhoni’s leadership to CSK’s record-breaking IPL title

The much-anticipated IPL final ended in a three-day thriller due to rain interruption. In a nail-biting encounter, Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the hero for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which secured them a record-equalling fifth IPL title against the Gujarat Titans. Despite mounting pressure, Mohit failed to find the right line and length on the following delivery, giving Jadeja a low full toss on the pads. Jadeja effortlessly flicks the ball over short fine leg for a boundary, giving CSK a resounding five-wicket win.

Soon after the win, Kohli took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement and acknowledged Jadeja and Dhoni’s outstanding performances. In his post, Kohli hailed Jadeja as a champion and lauded CSK for their extraordinary record win. He particularly highlighted Dhoni’s contribution to the team’s success, stressing the importance of the former Indian captain.

Despite being physically away from the match in London, where he was preparing for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia, Kohli closely followed the intense final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also shared a picture of Team India members including Mohammed Siraj, R Ashwin, Akshar Patel and head coach Rahul Dravid watching the match intently while returning to the hotel after their practice.
