Chamkila’s first teaser reveals Diljit Dosanjh’s character in Imtiaz Ali’s next

The makers of Chamkila have released the first teaser of the film. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. It revolves around Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was murdered at the young age of 27.

The teaser of Chamkila begins with a crowd of eager people giving way to a young man taking the stage. Next we see Diljit Dosanjh as Amar Singh Chamkila, the biggest record selling artist in Punjab.

It ends with the film’s colored logo and the release date set for 2024.

The video’s description reads, “Jawan Dila Di Muskaan, Amar Singh Chamkila Aa Pehchan Hai Aapke Din Mein Char Chand Lagane.”

Chamkila’s music is by AR Rahman. We also know that both Diljit and Parineeti have lent their voices to some of the songs.

Talking about the film, Imtiaz Ali, whose last directorial venture was Love Aaj Kal (2020), said, “Making Amar Singh Chamkila on the life of an iconic music star of the masses has been a unique journey for me. Couldn’t have expected actors to cast in this film than the immensely talented Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, especially since there’s some live singing involved.

Chamkila will come on OTT in 2024.
