PM Modi treated new inauguration of Parliament as his ‘coronation’: Opposition
The opposition on Sunday accused Prime Minister Modi of treating the inauguration of the new Parliament building as his “coronation” and said democracy is run by people, not buildings.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi soon after PM Modi inaugurated the building, “Parliament is the voice of the people! The Prime Minister is treating the inauguration of the Parliament House as (a) coronation.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that democracy does not run on buildings but on the voice of the people.
The Left parties also compared the inauguration of the Parliament House to the coronation of an emperor by calling the people of the country as ‘Praja’.
