As per the IPL playing conditions, the final match should start at 9.35 pm for the full 20 overs to be played. The cut-off time for the five-over shootout is 12.06 hrs. If conditions do not permit this either, the teams will play a ‘Super Over’ to determine a winner.
If even that is not possible, then as per last year’s playing conditions, defending champions Gujarat Titans will be declared winners on the basis of finishing higher in the points table ahead of MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the league stage.
The BCCI announced that ticket holders for Sunday’s final will be able to enter the stadium on Monday with the same physical ticket. Fans who had tickets for the Tata IPL final on May 28 will now be able to enter the stadium with their existing tickets on May 29, the BCCI said in a statement.
“The BCCI would like to thank the fans in attendance tonight for their patience and support. We request them to turn up in large numbers to support their favorite IPL teams at the Grand Finale of Tata IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.”
