The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) was washed out due to rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday night. The summit clash has been postponed to a reserve day that is Monday (May 29) after fans had to wait at least 4 to 5 hours to a near packed stadium for the latest updates.
While everyone was checking in and waiting for the toss to happen, the Ahmedabad weather had other plans and certainly none of them included a cricket match. The official decision came around 11 pm (IST) as the ground conditions looked very poor for a game of cricket. (Watch Live CSK vs GT Score Here)
What a bad day it was for the fans in the stadium. It started raining in Ahmedabad around 6 PM (IST) and lightened up for a few minutes around 9 PM (IST) as the players took frequent walks to take stock of the conditions. However, incessant rain returned and play was called off.
