More than a dozen students studying in institutions run by Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh have cleared the UPSC exam this year, one of whom has also made it to the top 20 performers. Kritika Mishra, a student of union-run BNSD Shiksha Niketan, Kanpur, has secured 66th rank in the examination.
Vidya Bharti is an organization run by RSS.
Vidya Bharati is a subsidiary organization of RSS which has more than 34 lakh children studying in about 12 thousand schools run across the country. In these schools education is provided to children from Shishu Bharti (pre-primary) to class 12th. Many organizations are also run in far flung areas.
“Just as radical Islamists use their madrassas in Pakistan, the RSS indoctrinates its schools to push a particular worldview. No one asks the question, ‘Where does the RSS get its money from?’ Rahul Gandhi had said this during a conversation with renowned economist Kaushik Basu.
Responding to a question from a history professor, Rahul had said, “What is happening is essentially an attack on the idea of equality.”
BJP’s reply on Rahul Gandhi’s statement
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s statement, the BJP praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as the “world’s biggest school of patriotism”, as it criticized Rahul for comparing the Hindutva outfit to radical Islamic organizations in Pakistan. Gandhi was criticized. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had said in a press conference that it would take a long time for the Congress leader to understand the RSS, the ideological fountainhead of the ruling BJP.
