He revealed in October that he would be leaving his position as a judge for the NBC singing competition after season 23. He met his wife, former judge Gwen Stefani. , working on “The Voice”, and he also had the most successful candidates under his mentorship. The country artist gave his final performance on May 23 and left the stage after delivering a final blow to Maroon 5’s 44-year-old frontman. Adam Levine and CeeLo Green, two previous “Voice” coaches, made onstage visits during Shelton’s farewell performance. In honor of Shelton, Green and past Team Blake contestants got together to perform a fun ’80s medley, and Levine welcomed Shelton to the show with a light-hearted but heartfelt message.

The ‘Barn & Grill’ singer admitted he struggled with the idea of quitting before making the announcement. But he said he intended to take time off from the show to devote more attention to his blended family with Stefani.
Stefani’s three children from her first marriage to Gavin Rossdale, Kingston, 16, Zuma, 14, and Apollo, 9, now have Shelton as stepfather as a result of their union.
