Superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday paid an emotional tribute to his late actor friend Sarath Babu, recalling his exhortation to quit smoking, adding that the late veteran would even snatch the counterfoil and catch him doing it. After paying respects to Sarath Babu’s mortal remains here, Rajinikanth announced that, keeping in mind his friend’s opinion, he would refrain from smoking in front of the actor.
Sarath Babu, 71, died on Monday while under care for multiple organ failure at a hospital in Hyderabad.

Talking to a reporter, Rajinikanth said that he knew Sarath Babu before he became an actor and also that they were good friends. He also said that the late actor was a very nice person, a good friend and always had a smile on his face.
“In Annamalai, there’s this crucial scene of challenging (Rajinikanth took on Sarath Babu after their friendship turned sour) and it took a lot of retakes because the emotions didn’t come out right. He gave me a cigarette and I felt relaxed after that.” And the tech was cleared. He always advised me about good health but now he is no more.”
