Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be under some pressure when they take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last group game in Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023). The four-time champion has himself to blame for being in the position he is in. They could have made it to the playoffs with a win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their last home match of the season but a six. -The loss of one wicket in that game meant that CSK’s fate hung in the balance. The good news is that the fate of Chennai is in their hands. They just need to win vs DC to qualify for the playoffs. However, this will not ensure them a top-two finish as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) can also jump to the same number of points.

If CSK lost to DC They will get a big blow on Saturday. Then, they will hope that MI and RCB lose their last group encounters against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) respectively. If LSG, RCB and MI win their remaining games and CSK lose to DC, the MS Dhoni-led side’s campaign will come to an end. In this scenario, CSK would end up with just 15 points, while LSG (17), MI (16) and RCB (16) would qualify.
Will Dhoni play for 5 more years?
CSK batting coach Michael Hussey said that skipper Dhoni is still fit and can play for another five years. Speaking to the media ahead of the Battle vs DC, Hussey said, “He (MS Dhoni) is still batting well, he is still motivated to come to training, working on his game. Hitting the ball well too. We’ve seen them coming.” At the end of the innings and finishing things off really well. He still has the ability to hit sixes. While he’s enjoying it and contributing to the team, there’s no reason why he can’t continue… maybe for another five years?”
