Terms and Conditions for NDP 2023 Quiz

how to participate

(a) The NDP 2023 Quiz (“Quiz”) will be conducted during the period from July 24, 2023 to August 4, 2023 (“Contest Period”), subject to the terms and conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions.

(b) The quiz will be as follows:

(i) On Mondays and Tuesdays of the Contest Period, a new quiz question will be screened on News Tonight (9pm-9.30pm) Channel 5 and Singapore Tonight (10pm-11pm). For the avoidance of doubt, only one (1) quiz question will be asked per news bulletin during the Contest Period.

(ii) The participants must send the correct answer to the email address shown.

(iii) MediaCorp reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to determine the accuracy and completeness of all Responses.

(c) Each Participant will be allowed to win only once during the entire Contest Period.

(d) For the avoidance of doubt, participants who submitted entries but did not win a prize may continue to participate in subsequent Quiz(s), provided they comply with all terms and conditions.

(e) Participants who are under the age of 18 years as on the date of participation are required to obtain the consent of their parent/guardian and shall provide their parent/guardian details as and when required and/or requested by MediaCorp. Participant warrants to MediaCorp that they have the legal capacity to participate in the Quizzes in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

(f) The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Quiz: (a) employees of any company in the Mediacorp group of companies (“Mediacorp Group”) and close relatives of such employee(s), and (b) where applicable, employee(s) of the companies that provide sponsorship for the Quiz. MediaCorp shall have the final discretion to decide the eligibility of the participants.

(g) Each Participant shall make full and honest disclosure of particulars requested by MediaCorp for the purposes of the Quiz. Any misrepresentation of any fact or particulars (material considered by MediaCorp) will result in disqualification and/or forfeiture, withholding, withdrawal or refund of any prize won.

(h) The Participant shall not, without the prior written approval of MediaCorp, speak to the press or any other media or give any interview or comment in connection with the Quiz. Participant shall not disclose to any other party any information relating to MediaCorp and/or any of the MediaCorp Group companies.

(i) MediaCorp reserves the right to substitute, add or change any item in the list of prizes offered. All prizes will be neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or otherwise.

(j) MediaCorp undertakes no responsibility to ensure that the prizes will be delivered to any prize winner by the sponsors or otherwise. No liability shall be assumed by MediaCorp or its associated/affiliated companies, officers and/or agents by reason of the Participant’s participation in the Quiz or for anything done or omitted to be done by the Participant as a result of or on account of the Quiz. MediaCorp shall not be liable or responsible for any and all loss, damage, costs and/or expenses (of whatever nature) arising out of any failure or refusal, whether by MediaCorp or any Sponsor, to deliver or transfer the Prize or Participant to fulfill any promise or offer, for any reason whatsoever.

(k) MediaCorp reserves the right to cancel, postpone, terminate, suspend, terminate, suspend or otherwise discontinue the Quiz at any time without prior notice.

(l) The Participant must produce his/her passport or identity card for verification purposes, as and when required by MediaCorp.

(m) MediaCorp reserves the right to amend or modify any of these Terms and Conditions and the Quiz without prior notice to any Participant. MediaCorp reserves the right to disqualify any participant(s) from the Quiz at any time at its sole discretion, without any liability to any participant(s).

(n) Mediacorp shall not be liable to the Participant or the Participant’s personal representatives in any way in connection with any loss, damage suffered by the Participant in connection with or as a result of the Quiz or any loss, damage or injury to life or property of the Participant(s) at any stage of the Quiz.

(o) Participant shall fully indemnify and hold MediaCorp and its related/affiliated companies, officers, agents and employees (“Indemnified Party”) against any and all losses, damages, claims and costs (including legal costs on a full indemnified basis) suffered and/or incurred by any Indemnified Party as a result of your breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.

(p) By his participation, the Participant accepts to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

(q) These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. No third party shall have any rights under the Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act.

Prize
(a) The first ten correct entries based on the email receipt time stamp submitted for each Quiz will win two tickets to the NDP Preview or NDP Parade, as announced during the respective news bulletins.

(b) Winners will be contacted to collect tickets from the Mediacorp campus located at 1 STARS AVENUE (S)138507.
