New Delhi: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his witty social media posts, has responded to criticism over the recent helmet controversy, where he was reprimanded by the Mumbai Police for violating traffic rules. The actor on Friday shared a picture of himself standing dejectedly beside a police jeep and captioned the post, “Arrested.”
Soon after Big B shared the post, social media users jumped into the comment box and dropped their funny reactions to his post. One user wrote, “No one can arrest Bhootnath.”
Another fan commented, “It is not difficult to catch the don… Impossible.”
A third user wrote, “Don..Don..Don…Police of 11 countries are waiting for Don! But catching Don is not only difficult, it is impossible!”
On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan shared a picture with a biker on Instagram and penned a note thanking him for offering him a lift and thus helping him reach his destination on time. “Thanks for the ride buddy…don’t know you…but you obliged and got me to work on time…avoiding the fast and intractable traffic jams…thanks Capped , owner of shorts and yellow T-shirt (sic).” In the photo, Amitabh can be seen sitting on the back seat of the bike wearing a jacket, white shoes and sunglasses.
The actor then released a detailed note in his blog and mentioned, “Impotence of content.. a lot has been made of the picture of the bike..! How are you roaming on the road with a stranger..? There is no security. ..you love,take care..?and then..no helmet..!!!!!!!!!!the thing is this is location shoot on mumbai street..it’s sunday..i want to shoot in a street Formal permission has been taken for. Ballard Estate.. Permission sought for Sunday as all offices are closed and there is no public or traffic.. One lane in the area is closed with police permission for shooting.. Lane barely 30 -40 meters is..the dress I wear is my dress for the film..(sic)”
He added, “And.. I am just fooling around by riding a crew member’s bike.. Not going anywhere but giving the impression that I have traveled to save time..( sic)”.
These days Amitabh is shooting for ‘Section 84’ being directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. He will also be seen in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film ‘Project K’ co-starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
