Spotify is going to increase the price of its premium subscription plan in the US. According to wall street journal, The publication states that the price is “likely” to increase to $1, meaning it will cost $10.99 per month, and the change is “expected” to be revealed next week. Premium has remained priced at $9.99 per month since its launch in the US 12 years ago.
While this probably isn’t the most welcome news, it’s not entirely surprising. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek indicating There will be a price hike in 2023 and it reiterated in April that there will be a price hike this year. Spotify did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Spotify has increased the prices of several plans in 2021.
