The case was registered in 2014 when Choudhary was working as the chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy and GCMMF. He was later removed from both the posts on charges of corruption in animal feed procurement.
According to the FIR, Chowdhary took the decision to send animal feed to drought-hit Maharashtra without proper permission. The state government alleged that the decision was taken without bringing the dairy to its board meeting or issuing any tender.
Others who were also sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment include former Dudhsagar Dairy board member, former vice-chairman Jalaben Thakor and former managing director Nishith Baxi.
